Finally, Race Results!

  1. Please correct me if I am wrong, but from the excel sheet it looks like Mike Deighan’s run time (20:23) was faster than Bobby Thorborg’s run time (20:34). Shouldn’t he be top runner?

  2. We actually spent a fair amount of time discussing this as a group prior to the race. We decided that we wanted the awards for the fastest of each race leg to go to those who did the entire tri. Therefore, out of all of the full tri racers, Bobby had the fastest bike and run. We decided to give the fastest swim award to a relay racer because the swim was the first leg of the race and relay racers held no advantage.

    • I think you failed to consider that the relay swimmer was able to leave it all in the pool because he was finished as soon as the swim was over. Someone competing as an individual has to pace him/herself because they need energy for the biking and running. I believe there should be separate recognition catagories for relay participants and individual participants. Your theory that in the beginning the participants are on equal footing really doen’t hold any water ( no pun intended ,,,,, I think ).

      • That’s a very good point and something that we will have to consider for future races. Thank you for bringing that to our attention.

  3. John Marshall Says:

This was a very well designed and organized triathlon. The bike course was diverse with flats and hills, mostly through PA contryside, some agricultural smells, an old Amish sense, very charming.
The volunteers were positive and supportive and all appeared to want to be there. A very supportive, cheering group at the finish line made finishing that much more fun.
Nicely done, congratulations to the class.

    John

    • John,

I am glad that you had so much fun and thank you for helping to support our causes. Hopefully we will see you out there again!
